Last Christmas at Port of Lost Wonder

Media Invite

I cannot believe this was our first visit to Port of Lost Wonder at Sentosa and it will be shutting its doors in exactly six days as I write this! Oh so glad we made it because we had some good fun yesterday morning. The reason for holding back this long was because I felt the children were too young to enjoy this pirate playground at four and two years of age. It was definitely not because of the entrance fee because it costs only S$10 per child to enter. What does it cost for an adult to follow behind? Nothing!

When I accepted this media invitation, I had assumed my husband would come with. We are already late into December! I was certain he could take leave. Lesson Learnt: Never Assume. I was a slightly worried about how tough it would be handling two young ones on my own in a water park. It sounds rather dangerous in my opinion! Leave your eyes off one kid and something might happen. Plus, trying to take pictures of them while avoiding splashes of water [from everywhere!]. Glad everything turned out well and my camera did not drop into the waters!

The pirate ship is the main attraction with two tubed slides for brave kids and two short slides for the less adventurous. If you have visited enough water playgrounds, you would have noticed that they all have these huge buckets at the top waiting that make a big splash to awaiting children. Ewan and Faye are totally not fans of those. They considered not playing altogether because of that! However, I assured them that I would weave them through all the slides without getting water bombed by that nasty pirate bucket. After which, they excitedly beckoned me to bring them in.

Oh their laughters were infectious and smiles, genuine to the level of fun they've acquired from this visit. 75 minutes of water play was sufficient for my party of three and we moved on to the Christmas Specials POLW has in store for their patrons.

We indulged in popcorns, candyfloss, glitter tattoos, a gigantic bubble bath splash and a surprisingly  delectable Christmas Brunch at Port Belly! To be honest, I was surprised by the quality of food presented to us on the table because well, who would have thought a water playground could come up with a menu like that from their kitchen? Don't we always get Fish & Chips [sometimes smelly muddy fish], low-grade burgers and a couple of club sandwiches?

Oh you will be pleased to hear that POLW is showcasing their last Christmas Brunch before they pull their flags down on 26th of December 2016.

Date: 24 and 25 December 2016
Time: 1100 to 1600 hours

Enjoy a variety of Christmas goodies such as traditional Christmas turkey, roast beef, salt baked salmon, shepherds' pie, log cakes and more! Free flow of soft drinks is included. However, these will be presented in a buffet line instead of serving platters like ours.

There are many tables around POLW you can dine on but better still, bring a throw and picnic under the canopy of a coconut tree. I think that would make such a beautiful and memorable setting for a Christmas Day.
