Gypsie Turns One

You are so loved by this family Gyps! I cannot believe you are ONE today! Still our baby even though you may already be older than HooSis and HooBro. Always our baby even when you are 150 human years old!

Happy BarkDay Gypsie.

We hope you like the birthday song we sang you! Although your name is Gypsie, we have so many nicknames for you. Gyps. Gypu. Gypety. That is why we decided to include them all in your Birthday Song!

The month of May had always been the busiest for me with so many celebrations: Wedding Anniversary, Mother's Day, Faye's Birthday, Ewan's Birthday...

Add you to the equation and we've got one more occasion to put on our celebratory list! Woohoo!

It is a pity we are not able to party it big for your Big One because of Circuit Breaker Lite. We had grand plans to meet the rest of your siblings at Studio Kinu to do a Furmily Portrait but that has to be shelved till further notice. Till when the COVID-19 situation gets better in Singapore. We decided to do a photoshoot for just you, Ewan and Faye instead. Daddy and mommy were there, masked, and we didn't take part in the shoot. According to IMDA, media content production companies may proceed with the default of up to 15 people on location. We met the requirements and went ahead with our BarkDay shoot.

What a fun-loving experience!

You were extremely excited to be at the studio. Your demeanour was different from when we were there the first time early this year for our 全家福 Family Photoshoot. In February, you was mostly wary, sitting quietly, obeying instructions...

This time, as if it was familiar ground to you, you went bunny crazy jumping off sofas and running around tables! No treats could bribe you to sit more than three seconds and you simply wanted to play with the squeaky toy Studio Kinu keeps on site for their doggo clients! *hahah* In my opinion, it was a difficult shoot.

That is why, it was a nice surprise we managed to capture quite a handful of good ones for keepsakes!

Your cake is so beautiful! I saw many doggo bakers in the market but I wasn't sure if they can paint well. My ideal cake for you is one that have YOU drawn on it! Drawn properly on it. The baby you when we first met when you were two months old. I realise I have a soft spot for drawings and paintings. Even the wallpapers I choose for our home, I chose those designed by artists!

I trust the folks at Cupplets and nudged them to give it a try to bake a cake for you. They've never done a doggie cake before and was initially apprehensive. The wrong food ingredients could lead to poisoning and that responsibility is too heavy to carry. We researched on what dogs can and cannot eat and came to an agreement on what should be included in your First Birthday Cake.

Still, Sam from Cupplets told me to not let you finish the entire cake on her own. Just in case!

So mama had most of it and I really did enjoy your Carrot Cake!

Happy First Birthday Gypsie.

To many years ahead with us.
