Pay-It-Forward 1.1: Local Food by #FayeDiddleDoodle

This is an extension to Pay-It-Forward 1.0. While we ran a zero-profit-100%-to-charity campaign with the sales of Faye's Letter Writing Stationery Sets from 21 to 31 August 2020, we are here doing our last round-up for Riding for the Disabled Association. 

I made a promise to our six-year-old illustrator that I'd help her get a taster of what it's like to be a Kidpreneur but whatever we do, we must always remember to give back to society. This installation will be Part-Charity-Part-To-Faye. We will run the sale of these limited edition tote bags for only 48 hours to bring in the last Hoo-Ha for RDA! I am happy to share that we will commit an additional 10% to charity for our returning donors [those who bought the stationery sets].

At S$25 per tote bag, they are larger than the usual, standing at 35x45cm with an 8cm base. We envision these totes be used for grocery shoppings, trips to the library and files after files of marking papers for our teachers! We have ensured colours to stay exactly the same as Faye's original paintings and had it all printed directly onto the bags to safeguard longevity. Thank you Innoad Productions for experimenting this print for us even though it is typically out of your usual job scope.

FILES AND BOOKS: The 8cm base helps to widen the breadth of our tote bags to house more than a regular no-base tote. It can handle the length of an A4 which is sized at 21x30cm which makes it easy for teachers and students to carry files, textbooks and papers. 

GROCERY RUN: Over the weekend, we brought all three of our designs - Chicken Rice, Laksa and Ice-Kachang - to the supermarket to buy three large packets of potato chips, four tubes of Starbucks Nespresso capsules, two packets of instant noodles, two packets of bread roll, three packets of snacks and a 5KG packet of rice. Remember to keep it green by saying "No" to single-use plastics!

A TRIP TO THE LIBRARY: We've also experimented it with eight Little People, Big Dreams storybooks and it seems like the tote can bear another eight on top of each other.

We closed this chapter on 2nd September 2020 at 2pm.

Thank you EVERY ONE who supported this cause and for donating so generously to RDA. To think we were doubtful we could even raise $1000 for this project! Today, we are sending in a cheque ten times the amount! Our hearts are filled with gratitude by your big-heartedness. 

I had wanted to bring the family to the Riding for the Disabled Association of Singapore to personally present the cheque and to give Faye and Ewan some tangible experience of who/what they’ve impacted with their ideas and hard work. Unfortunately, due to health sensitivity of their beneficiaries, they are under stricter safe management guidelines that only allow essential services to continue. They cannot receive any visitors and hence, we will have this cheque mailed to them instead.
