Packing my Travel List at myCK 21st Anniversary Sale

Media Invite

We are off again this weekend! To Mauritius and Meyer is finally travelling for leisure. We had been following him around the globe this year on his business trips and while semi-solo-parenting is doable, it will be refreshing to have my husband round the clock for eight full days this time.

I decided to plan my packing list early since we will be resort-living. Mauritius isn't really a city and I don't reckon we can easily get last minute diapers from a supermarket out front. I needed to get our essentials stocked for the trip!

It was timely that myCK invited us to shop with them and check out their 21st Anniversary offers but not without first doing my homework on their price points. I am that mom who would ride in a Grab or Uber depending on who gives me the best promo code that week. You can say I am loyal to anyone who gives me the biggest savings!

So before I accepted myCK's invitation, I walked into our regular supermarket to compare prices. The total savings for the same items was about 50% during the period of myCK's 21st Anniversary Sale! I kid you not and I was just as shocked!

I checked the prices of three items I was going to get for this trip:

1. myCK Pampers Baby Dry L46 S$11.95 vs Supermarket S$21.00
2. myCK Colgate Triple Action 2 for S$3.00 vs Supermarket 2 for S$5.90
3. myCK Scott's Gummy Vit C 2 for S$3.90 vs Supermarket 1 for S$3.30

With that research, proving that myCK's Anniversary Sale is a super saver, I considered no more and bought all the rest on my travel list at myCK. Plus everything else I needed for our post-trip's use. I had to stock up on Breeze Laundry Detergent for soiled clothes, Brand's Essence of Chicken for rejuvenation, Naturesoft Bathroom Tissue, Lee Fah Mee Instant Noodles in case we get hungry upon reaching home and Harpic Toilet Block to keep the toilets smelling fresh while we are away!

The shopping experience in the neighbourhood was pleasant. We had our local breakfast at the market, gave the children some playground time around the corner and popped into myCK to pick our favourites. Ewan and Faye went straight for the snacks section! They know I prefer them choosing healthier options so they tossed packets of Ribena and Scott's gummy pastilles into our basket.

Best of all, shopping is made easy for me with two very impatient children jumping on the spot to get their sweet treats the cashier! myCK accepts cashless payment like DBS PAYLAH! All I did was scan the QR code without having to fumble into my bag for the wallet. I love it!

The 21st Anniversary Sale runs from now till 15 June 2018 [click to enlarge promotional brochure]. However, the promotions are split into two parts with the following promotional brochure featuring sales from 27 April to 15 May 2018.

The second part of their sale runs from 16 May to 15 June 2018, featuring a different set of sale items for your shopping needs! Also, when you spend S$30 in a single receipt, you stand to win more than S$4,000 worth of myCK shopping vouchers!

With such good price points, it is worth it to purchase for stock-ups to tap on savings.

To be honest, I had always known the existence of this neighbourhood shop [because they are everywhere!] but never had I once looked up to realise the name of the store! My first shopping experience at myCK was vivid. We were out at an event when Faye decided to pee on me one year ago. I had my clothes all soiled in urine. I made a dash to the nearest market to find suitable clothes but none caught my eye. Well, even if there was, I couldn't try them on because it was not allowed in the market. Although all I needed were just new clothes, I wanted to purchase something I would wear again and not throw out.

Then this air-conditioned shop selling sundries and clothes beckoned for me to enter. It was so hot and frustrating, air-conditioning was what I needed at that time to cool me down. I realised later that it was myCK! They had fitting rooms and affordable clothes that I saw myself wearing. In fact, this top and skirt cost me only S$19.80! I wrote on my Facebook post when I shared it, "I think I found a new place to shop!" and indeed today, I am shopping at myCK.

I shall pack these in the luggage for Mauritius too!
