MOSH! on Sentosa Island!
Media Invite
EDIT 25.02.16: Congratulations Kaye Wong [Facebook Winner] and @vallous_01 [Instagram Winner]! You have both won yourselves a family package to MOSH!
We love Sentosa for its cable car rides!
We love Sentosa for its monorail rides!
We love Sentosa for Universal Studios and SEA Aquarium!
And now, we love Sentosa because there's MOSH!
My children are easily satisfied. A Bus Ride to Harbourfront Centre with a tour around Sentosa in a Cable Car cabin or pink Monorail will set them screaming in delight. Not to mention a Beach Tram treat from Siloso Beach to Tanjong Beach.
We've watched the Palawan Kidz City being built and had always thought it will house only the giant play magnet Kidzania Singapore. Little did we know, MOSH! will also share a space on the third level at Palawan Kidz City, a 7,000 sqft facility that is slated to open in April 2016!
We've watched the Palawan Kidz City being built and had always thought it will house only the giant play magnet Kidzania Singapore. Little did we know, MOSH! will also share a space on the third level at Palawan Kidz City, a 7,000 sqft facility that is slated to open in April 2016!
Although its grand opening is set for April, together with KidZania Singapore, their doors are now opened to welcome visitors from February 2016! So yes, don't be misled. You can bring your family to MOSH! anytime upon reading this review.
GETTING THERE
Long [Scenic] Route:
- monorail from Vivo City to Imbiah Station [this is the Merlion sits]
- cable car from Merlion Station to Siloso Point Station [this is at Rasa Sentosa]
- beach tram from Siloso Beach to Beach Station Transfer Hub
Note: Palawan Kidz City building is still closed. Until it is opened in April, you will be able to alight at Port of Lost Wonder Beach Tram Station.
Quick [I Want To Play] Route:
- monorail from Vivo City to Beach Station
or
- drive in and park at Beach Station
With the building still closed, there is an alternative walking route to reach MOSH! from the Beach Station. Whether you are driving or taking a Sentosa mode of transport, walk to the end of the bus transfer hub and you will find a flight of steps to an overhead bridge. Take that linkway and follow the signs that shout MOSH!
We were greeted with the liveliest HELLO upon entering MOSH! Our knees were weak and bodies in need of fluid after taking the long scenic route. By the time we arrived at this digital media edutainment facility, it was already 12 noon and some indoor play was definitely most welcomed. The staff's energetic dispositions literally woke us up from all lethargy! Oh and that welcoming doodled wall filled with Moo, Moji, Baku, Momo and Moto [characters from MOSH!] got us all excited to enter their World of Tomorrow.
RATE CHART
Daddy's verdict after playing a few rounds at MOSH! was: "The children love it! Though I don't see myself getting entertained for too long." I agree. It was a little bit hard to swallow when I saw the rate chart:
Adult: S$28 | Child: S$22 [3 to 12 years old] | Free of Charge below 3 years old
I am willing to pay for a ticket to get Ewan in but definitely not for myself. While they were having a great time in there, I was only acting like a babysitter. Granted, I tried to set off some fireworks but that's really just out of curiosity. Ya, I threw a few paper airplanes too but that's just to get the kids going. So hmm... we are hoping they will re-adjust their rate chart for the grand opening in April 2016 [which they say they will consider!].
ATTRACTIONS
This indoor playroom offers children a unique play-to-learn format that can keep them going for hours. We spent 90 minutes in there and I had to tear both kids away by enticing them with MacDonald's for lunch. It was always, "Last one Mommy. Last one." and "No. No. No." when I told them it was time to go.
The immersive virtual experience is designed to allow creativity to come alive. We drew sea animals [ha.. underwater Pirates and Princesses in the case of my children] and watched them swim into the screen, we set off fireworks and went on an airplane adventure.
You enter a darkened room - an interactive digital multimedia theme park. It is like a life-sized games room, bringing children an alternate world of incredible wonders. Using advanced, special tools and cutting-edge technology from Japan, each exhibit is handcrafted to incite the imagination of each child. It may seem, "Ah is this it? All exhibits in one room?" but really, they kept the kids entertained for 90 minutes. That's a really long while!
There are five main attractions here: Land, Air, Sea, Space and Fantasy. I will be star-rating each of the exhibit from zero to five, with five stars as the favourite.
LAND: Hide And Seek
Ewan: 0 Stars
Faye: 0 Stars
Mom: 5 Stars
This is my favourite because it lights up so brightly, I could take really sharp pictures! *haha* Jokes aside, the children do not seem to understand the game plan for Hide and Seek! Just look at their faces. I took six pictures of them and all six returned a DUH face. The MOSH! employees were enthusiastic as always and they gave very clear explanations on how Hide and Seek was supposed to be played. Mmmm I must say it wasn't the fault of the table or staff. This facility is designed for children aged three to 12 years of age and this game probably just ain't suited for my very little ones.
AIR: Paper Plane Adventure
Ewan: 5 Stars
Faye: 5 Stars
Mom: 5 Stars
SUPERB! Here, you will fold your own paper airplanes [which my son hasn't mastered yet, not to mention the daughter] and start the interactive play by throwing it at the screen! Surely Ewan would give it a 5-star because (1) He Loves Transportation and (2) He Loves To Throw. The children were given goggles and pilot caps as props, engaging them into a world of imaginative role-playing mode. Good thinking from MOSH! because I really liked them. If they retailed them at the counter, I would have gotten one each for the kids.
There are different Worlds to play in and again, I liked Ice World the best because it projects the brightest lights [for photography purposes]. Ewan enjoyed the Dinosaur World where Brontosaurus and T-Rex resided in! When his paper plane hit the screen, a Pterodactyl [a flying dino] appears and flew off into the skies. Depending on the World and speed of your airplane touching the screen, a different airplane [fighter plane or jet plane] will appear on the projection screen right before your eyes. To a three year old, that's quite wondrous.
There are still a lot more to discover at MOSH! with three more exhibits to play in but Ewan couldn't hear my calls to move on because he was too engrossed with the airplanes. I literally pulled him to the Doodle Aquarium.
SEA: Doodle Aquarium
Ewan: 5 Stars
Faye: 5 Stars
Mom: 5 Stars
We docked here the longest. Ewan and Faye are not of age to draw anything concrete at the moment. Only lines and scribbles. The staff at MOSH! rocked with their creative artworks! They asked Ewan and Faye what they'd like to see swimming in their private aquarium and enthusiastic as they were, they helped my children materialise their Doodle Aquarium dreams.
We had Captain America Shields, Pirates, Lightsabers, Iron Men, Boats, Jellyfish, Princesses, Fish and Flowers floating on the projection screen. There was one drawing card that got me laughing out loud. I praised Ewan for writing an "I" on the card and he said, "This is a lightsaber mom!" Oooooh-Kay Son! Whatever you say son!
This technology of play is quite spectacular. Bring your drawings to a table scanner and they will come to life in the large ocean of MOSH!. I like it that the table can take several drawing cards at a time so that many children can play concurrently. Ewan and Faye started with one card each. When they got the hang of things, they threw all the cards out at one go, scanning countless of Princesses and Captain America Shields and sending them off to their private pool.
SPACE: Firework Party
Ewan: 3 Stars
Faye: 0 Stars
Mom: 2 Stars
Oh Faye oh Faye. She stood and watched. Intently. But it didn't impress her much. In fact, she turned and ran to me saying, "Scared." Ewan, on the other hand, thought it was quite funny that he could orchestrate a series of fireworks on screen by jumping. The actual play is to encourage dance and play. The dance floor is very large. When many people dance in unity, you will be treated to a grand finale of surprise. The Paper Plane Adventure and Doodle Aquarium intrigued the children a lot more so they were running towards the other exhibits after about five jumps.
FANTASY: World Of Wonder
Ewan: 4 Stars
Faye: 4 Stars
Mom: 4 Stars
This didn't hold our attention for too long as well but it was very interesting to catch your very own MOSH!cot in action. There are five MOSH!cot characters in MOSH! kingdom and Faye chose to colour in Momo, the jellyfish look-a-like MOSH!cot. With a quick scan, we saw them bouncing off the the screen of clouds and bubbles! It may seem like a very simple activity but if you think about it, technology really does amazing things.
The facility can take up to 250 visitors at a time. While we are were the only ones there over Sunday, we could spend as long a time as we like playing with the Doodle Aquarium and Paper Plane Adventure. However, when the crowd does come in after its grand opening, each visitor will be given a two hour time slot on weekends and public holidays. Unlimited play on weekdays!
The staff are one of the most un-loving bunch I've ever encountered. They were very outgoing, communicative and creative! I've encountered feet-dragging employees at children's play grounds many times. We all know how tiring it can be to engage a child and keep her enjoyment index at a constant high. They did it at MOSH!. I heard only laughters and enthusiasm the whole time at MOSH!.
This is a must-watch video if you'd like to know what it's all about at MOSH!. Pump up your volume to hear how the staff made our experience as memorable as it had been! Ewan's bugging me to return to MOSH! every day after and we definitely will.

ReplyDeleteI read your review! Glad daddy had a great time too!
DeleteThanks for sharing this interesting place. Think my boys will love the SEA:doodle aquarium. And I can recognize with the Last one mummy, last one ~~
ReplyDeleteahahaha This is the right place for kids our age
Deletethis looks so cool! Do you think it will interest 13 yo boys?
ReplyDeleteI don't think so leh Phoebe. Too old for play like this.
DeleteLooks like not too bad to visit for kids sake. As an adult, am not too sure if I would like.
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely more for the children so I wouldn't pay for a ticket
DeleteLooks like an interesting place, but I wouldn't pay for adult entry! Lol.
ReplyDeleteSame Same!
DeleteI went along with my kids and found more interesting for little one. As my elder one finished all activities twice or thrice in 30 minutes.
ReplyDeleteYup! I agree.
DeleteWa like quite fun! I think my son will like the paper aeroplanes too! But I think to charge $100 for a family of four is quite hard to swallow, gotta agree on that. I hope they let parents go in for free with every paying kid, kinda like indoor playgrounds!
ReplyDeleteNice blog post! Have you also visited the nearby Gillman Barracks ?
