#MyMandai with Wildlife Reserves Singapore

Ending on 29th February 2016Wildlife Reserves Singapore is rewarding the first 1000 photo submissions with a S$10 food and beverage voucher that can be used at any participating outlets in its four parks [Singapore Zoo, Jurong Bird Park, Night Safari and River Safari].  It doesn't stop here, the most interesting photo each week will receive a S$100 F&B voucher! I like these kind of contests because the winner is determined not by voting but based on the quality of the entry. The winning entry will be announced weekly on www.mymandai.com and notified via email on the collection of prizes.

Look! You get to be featured on the main page of #MyMandai website against digital mural illustrated by the illustrious Citizen Dan and crew, of The Good Citizen Movement, for two months! If you take a closer look at the digital mural in the website, you will find that it is drawn to incorporate the winning picture's settings. How very clever! This mural will grow with your photos so keep them coming won't you?

There is this unspoken affinity between animals and children. Animals play an important role in children's literature because children of all cultures are drawn to animals from a very young age. I noticed most of our storybooks have Pandas and Elephants as casts. I remember Ewan and Faye's very first lessons with me were identifying cats, dogs and birds. Visiting the parks at Singapore Wildlife Reserves never cease to brighten up their little faces. All their animal friends in their daily reads have now come to life right in front of them!

#MyMandai is all about the unforgettable moments at our wildlife parks. I remember the striking stench when we pass the otters and the time we fed the elephants bananas. Sometimes it is the littlest things that we remember. The sounds. The sights or like me, the smell. However, the most memorable time I had was when my first-born went for his first school excursion to the zoo at two years of age. I tagged along of course because I wouldn't miss it (watching his excitement) for the world! Every moment we spend in the parks is part of a growing treasury of memories for the Wildlife Reserves and by sharing our photographs, we are working together to create a memory bank of zoological experiences from 1971 till today.

Here's sharing the pictures I'm considering to submit for this campaign and I hope to see what you've got in your bags too!

21 Jul 2014 :: At The Zoo
Ewan was 2 years old when he went for his very first school excursion to the Zoo! He took the school bus all by himself and I was uber proud of his bravery. Faye was only 66 days old then and it was also her first visit! What a milestone to remember.
25 Sep 2014 :: At The Zoo
He said, "Hooray! We are at the zoo!"
followed by, "I want to see the Tiger! And the Giraffe! How about the Elephant mommy!"
Memories For Tomorrow are created because we build them.
11 Jan 2015 :: At The Zoo
Not in real life, no. We wouldn't have the opportunity to take photographs
with a giant tortoise, a white rhinoceros and majestic lion in the same scene
if not for the life-like backdrops at the zoo!
11 Jan 2015 :: At The Zoo
The giant bird perches are perfect for these two little human Ooo-Ooo-Ahh-Ahhs!
Swinging away and chattering like monkeys at the zoo! What a spectacle!
30 May 2015 :: At The Zoo
I had a Wild Birthday!
9 Jan 2016 :: At The Zoo
The children's very first up-close-and-personal experience with an elephant.
The Singapore Zoo provides an all-rounded experience which includes first-hand interaction with humans!

The colours POP!

FUN FACT Did you know that the Jurong Bird Park was opened two years before The Singapore Zoo in 1971? Aha! If you are 45 years and above, go burrow your heads into your photo albums and share your memories with Singapore.
