GIVEAWAY: Fuss-Free Travels with Children through JetQuay

EDIT 18.07.16: Congratulations Esther Em! You have won yourself a Quayside Departure Service with JetQuay for your upcoming trip!

I bet every one is coming in for a read because "Travelling with Children" is always a compelling topic and "What is JetQuay?" They provide a hassle-free airport experience for every passenger - taking care of their check-in, baggage and immigration clearance before driving you to the boarding gate.

"Perfect for travels with children, minors and elderlies travelling on their own. They need not worry about finding their way through the airport or walk long distances to the boarding gate."

When I sounded my grand plan for an impromptu trip to Taiwan with Ewan and Faye alone, I received the biggest rejection from my mother-in-law. She was worried about us at the airport. How was I going to check-in with two fidgety tots? Not only did I need to ensure our passports and boarding passes are kept intact, I had to guarantee the safety of my kids as well. How was I going to handle the luggage alone? To be honest, I saw no difficulty whatsoever. I am an idealist. Not too good a trait sometimes because I overlook many potential issues that may arise. That said, I had to keep my loved ones in Singapore free from worry. Seven days of fun for us could equate to seven days of panic for our loved ones. I had to keep them assured that we will be well taken care of.

As if  JetQuay heard our predicament, they offered to take us on arrival and departure! If giving your loved ones peace of mind ranks high on your priorities, you should consider JetQuay services. We were invited to experience their QUAYSIDE service which includes a buggy ride perfect for automobile-loving kids like mine.

DEPARTING FROM SINGAPORE

Upon arrival at CIP terminal, an elite Airport terminal at Singapore Changi Airport, we were greeted by several Guest Relations Officer at the doorstep. I felt like a Very Important Person as I stepped out of the car with my door held opened for us. I used to be a hotelier welcoming dignitaries at our property's doorstep and it feels rather surreal now that I am on the receiving end.

I needn't give any instructions. Not even about the baggage in our car boot. The children and I were brought straight to the family lounge where they plunged themselves into the comfy lounge seats. With an over-sized bear each, they sat and watched cartoons on Nickelodeon.

Connie, our guest relation officer, was very welcoming and it helps that she adores children too. Instead of going straight into the official work of checking in, she made sure that we were all happily settled and had our refreshments served above everything else. I handed over our passports and enjoyed the lounge facilities with my family while Connie had our boarding passes processed. Before I know it, she came back to me with our passes and went through the important details like my preferred time to depart CIP terminal and whether I'd like to get some shopping done before boarding.

The welcoming and sending-off party is capped at three guests per service. We had the gramps sent us off and they stayed till it was time for us to leave. It happened that our flight was to depart at 1305hrs and we were to partake our lunch at the CIP lounge. Unfortunately, the F&B aspect has still room for improvement. With a few opportunities to experience SIA Business Lounge's, I would say JetQuay should step up on their game to provide a wider range of food and drinks. Nevertheless, we had our fill with Chicken Curry Rice and Prawn Noodles [cooked a-la-minute].

When it was time to go, we were walked to a dedicated Immigration and Customs counter. I love it that we were the only three in the line, without having to queue. Our guest relation officer had everything covered from start to end. Our documents were returned to us right after clearing customs and the children had 15 minutes ride of their lifetime.

BUGGY!

It takes 15 minutes to ride from the CIP terminal to Terminal 3. I was glad the buggy ride was not short-lived. The children enjoyed it thoroughly but here is a Big Tip: Wear A Jacket Because The Wind Is Very Cold! I was so fearful the children will catch a chill even before our holiday. Thank goodness for strong immunity.

Connie made sure that Ewan was well-protected in his front-view seat next to her. She had her hand on his thigh the whole while and slowing down when he got too excited. She dropped us off at the boarding gate and made sure we were all cleared before moving off. She displayed genuine concern for us and I appreciate her dedication.

The children waved good-bye to Aunty Connie beyond that glass and we were on our way to Taipei!

Oh where was our luggage? Straight off the car and onto the plane!

ARRIVAL TO SINGAPORE
I had a difficult flight back to Singapore even though Ewan and Faye slept half the way. Our little cheeky padi [the daughter by the way] decided to pour ice-cold water all over herself. Not only did she get drenched, her seat was damp too. I was screaming inside of me. I changed her calmly and gave her a stern talking to. Who would have thought she'd do it again. This time a little pressure on the Apple Juice packet and I've got squirts of juice on her new clean top. *hair-pulling moment*

I was exhausted because we had to leave the resort by 0630hrs that same morning to catch our flight. Meeting Jessie from JetQuay right after we walked through the aerobridge was a huge relief. I would have given her a big embrace when we met but frightening my guest relation officer off was not the cleverest idea!

Jessie took Ewan's backpack from him and settled us onto the buggy. She requested for our checked-in baggage tag which she swiftly took a photo of and sent it to a colleague who will pick it up for us. With that, we were on our way to the CIP terminal.

I needed to use the bathroom and left the children in Jessie's good hands. She hit it off with the children during the buggy ride back and they granted me five minutes of me-time in the bathroom. When I returned, my tots were munching happily on Chocolate Chip cookies!

We didn't have anyone available to pick us up so a taxi was called. Jessie escorted us to the car, had me check the luggage [which was already sitting in the boot] and bade us a fond farewell. I couldn't ask for a more seamless experience at the airport.

Your guest relation officer can also handle GST refund claims and duty-free shopping on request!

    1. You sure know how to travel in style!! What a fab way to start and end a trip. The toilet part got to me.. I was thinking, hmmm, would my super sticky kids really be willing to stay with the JetQuay escort while I use the toilet? Then I read that your kids were bribed by chocolate cookies. LOL...

      1. Oh that buggy ride. It was a treat in itself! We've always seen buggies going around the terminals while we dragged the kids to the gate. Sometimes I just wished they would let us hitch a ride!
