Faye Turns Seven: The Wild Kingdom

Happy Birthday Seven Year Old YOU!

We had grand plans for a Unicorn birthday party this year and mommy was secretly planning a celebration at the horse stables to have little ponies wear unicorn headbands on your birthday. Alas. Your birthday falls on a Monday and it is rest day for all horses in town. So this one will have to be postponed.

Then you came up with an idea of a Lego & Friends themed party. With the many sets you already have from your Christmas wish list last year, it will be simple to put together something! Just have them all put on display and Ta-Da! But you changed your mind the next day.

It's going to be an Animal party! I suggested a visit to the Zoo with your friends and cousins. You told me you'd like to feed the lions *haha* No sane zoo-keeper will allow you to do that Faye! In our planning, Singapore still allowed eight in a group. We could accommodate a couple of your classmates and your mandatory cousins. Then it dropped from eight to five in a group. Before we know it, we dived straight into Phase Two [Heightened Phase] aka Circuit Breaker Lite a day before your birthday. With only two guests allowed for visitations, we reluctantly dropped all our guests from the birthday list.

It is only wise to minimise socialising especially in situations where masks will be removed. I am not ready to build my own inner social bubble either. We will just keep to Daddy, Mommy, 哥哥, 妹妹 and Gypsie until July comes.

We ditched the Unicorn idea and the Lego & Friends theme. We couldn't materialise the Zoo trip.

But that doesn't mean the celebration will come to a halt! If we could pull off a super awesome one last year during Circuit Breaker by dressing up as Elsa, Anna, Kristoff and Olaf, we can do it this time despite last minute changes.

The Wild Kingdom!

Oh yes! And a McDonald's lunch!

Glad we made you extra happy today.

THE THEME
Put together your artworks, the faux leaves we already have at home, a few new purchases, a Faye-art-inspired birthday cake and “Faye, Wild and Seven” backdrop [which got daddy, you and 哥哥 asking me why isn’t it “Faye, Wild at Seven”], we have you a birthday celebration at home!

All these planned in just one week.

Even on the day itself, I still haven't had a clue how I'd want to put the props together. It was really just inspiration on the fly.

Lucky for you, mommy enjoys playing decorator.

THE CAKE
Your cake changed from this to that to THIS! I didn't know what to do with your cake but I guess it has to be animal-themed. Sam from Cupplets turned your art into food this time and had your "Singapore Zoo" drawing put onto your birthday cake.

She even coloured it the way she thinks you'd have coloured your picture if you had crayons and colour pencils!

DABOX MINI
We planned to hold a little art and craft session at home for your guests and I turned to your art school for help. They had come up with many DaBox art kits since last Circuit Breaker to tide families through boredom and I find the Mini kits extremely suitable for birthday parties.

It is a pity we cannot have everyone together physically to craft these Animal Masks but we still had the boxes delivered to your cousins and friends as gifts. Looking forward to seeing their masks when they are done!

Only until this Friday, 21 May 2021, there will be a 20% storewide sale across all DaBox and DaBox Mini. Since we will be missing quite a bit of June Holiday Camps due to Circuit Breaker Lite, these art kits are perfect bordom-snatchers for the June School Holidays. I like it because Faye can spend some good engaging time with her hands rather than on the screen. And if you have a birthday coming up and doing a Zoom party, DaBox Minis can a birthday activity!

Shop here. No Code Needed.

These Fun Zoo DaBox Mini we got for Faye's guests are now at S$9.60.

Be Brave little one. This is my wish for you this 2021. It is going to be tough because COVID-19 is unrelenting. There will be much changes in school curriculums. Your usual enrichment classes will now go online. We cannot head out to attractions as easily as we used to. The sands on the beach will become a rare touch. The slides at the playground will be underused. No Holiday Programmes, No Play Dates, No Sleepovers...

But when Singapore manages to keep the number of COVID-19 cases down, be brave when we head back to school.

What did you wish for before you blow out your candle this year?

  2. I was diagnosed as HEPATITIS B carrier in 2013 with fibrosis of the
liver already present. I started on antiviral medications which
reduced the viral load initially. After a couple of years the virus
became resistant. I started on HEPATITIS B Herbal treatment from
ULTIMATE LIFE CLINIC (www.ultimatelifeclinic.com) in March, 2020. Their
treatment totally reversed the virus. I did another blood test after
the 6 months long treatment and tested negative to the virus. Amazing
treatment! This treatment is a breakthrough for all HBV carriers.
